Young Frankenstein, The Mel Brooks Musical

From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers. The comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into a brilliant stage creation – Young Frankenstein!

Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.

From the oriental grace and passion of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, to Verdi’s exotic and scorching landscapes of ancient Egypt, two very different women are nevertheless led on the same crushing journey of unrequited love. A careful selection of arias, such as 'Nessun Dorma' and Bellini's 'Casta Diva' - from the powerful and turbulent to the soft and sublime, will complement these not-to-be-missed scenes.

New works for Taonga Pūoro & Viola

🎵 I have the honor of having my piece "Te Reranga a Hihi", performed by NZSO player Sophia Acheson, and Kāi Tahu Māori singer and taonga pūoro musician Ariana Tikao

This will be a lecture/recital in preparation for presentation at the International Viola Congress in Brazil this July. The presentation will include works by Jean-Baptiste Jossa, Luka Venter, Elliot Vaughan, Ariana Tikao, Bob Bickerton and Gareth Farr.
